An extraordinary venue

Built in 2005 to a 1950s International Style design by architect Oscar Niemeyer, the Ibirapuera Auditorium has an internal capacity for 800 people. When a 20-metre door is opened at the back of the stage, however, the capacity reaches almost 15 thousand people in the external area. The venue is used for cultural activities and musical shows and even hosted the Latin Grammy Awards in 2008.

The choice of this unique location underlines our mission to inspire the world to dance.

Introducing the news, Alexander Campbell, RAD Artistic Director, says: "I'm delighted to be taking the Fonteyn 2025 to Brazil for the first time and to be staging the event at the instantly recognisable Auditório Ibirapuera will be very special indeed. I cannot wait to welcome candidates from around the world to take part in what promises to be a memorable event."
